This is a Hungarian Plume agate and weighs 65 grams. It has golden plumes throughout with some lavender chalcedony peeking through. Plumes visible on the back as well.
This is a Botswana agate and weighs 70 grams. There is a tiny almost invisible fracture starting at the white center and going down to the narrow end and a small nick on the right edge. It is hard to see with the naked eye. It is monocentric with beautiful light banding. The banding occurs because of the positive charge that develops along the edge of the material that gets into the agate as it floats in the liquid silica.
This is a perfect little Botswana and weighs 45 grams. It has a pink center with a unique osculum (escape tube) and excellent banding. The banding occurs because of the positive charge that develops along the edge of the material that gets into the agate as it floats in the liquid silica. No damage.
This is a Variscite slab from the Green Monster Mine in Clay Canyon, Utah and weighs 137.6 grams. This slab has some dark and light green variscite in the center. The dark green has some fracturing which is common as variscite is much softer than the minerals of crandallite and wardite associated with the specimen. Both sides are polished and I included one photo of the back. There is a saw mark on the back, but the back has eyes, tubes, and crevices where other rare minerals may be found under microscope.
This is a pair of small Laguna agates and weigh 18 and 20.6 grams respectively. The larger one has one broken edge, but the beauty and the colors of red, gold and green make this a nice little pair. Unusual shape, almost looks more like coral.
This is a miniature Laguna agate and weighs 11.2 grams. This is a perfect little fully developed agate. It is monocentric with soft red banding and an open apeture with crystals inside the center.
This is a stunning Botswana! I search every show for the best Botswana with pink or red in them and no fractures. This one takes the cake with the symmetrical banding above the dark red center which is slightly less bright than the photo. It is domed not flat polished and has a mirror polish. There is one tiny fracture near the right edge that does not go into the banding. It also appears by the skin to have been river smoothed as it is very smooth to touch and there are two areas on the skin that were knocked off somehow to reveal agate structures within. It is a beauty!
This is a citrus Agate Creek agate with excellent banding and inflow escape tube. The beauty in this half of a pair is in the flow of the banding of this yellowish green agate and what appears to be amethyst in the crystal quartz tube mostly at the base seen best under magnification. Good light is also best when viewing this agate. It has no fractures and a mirror polish. See the right half of this agate TAS042
This is a citrus Agate Creek agate with excellent banding and inflow escape tube. This right half of a pair has a beautiful flow of the banding in this yellowish green agate with a crystal quartz center and inflow/escape tube best seen under magnification. Good light is also best when viewing this agate. It has no fractures and a mirror polish. See the left half of this agate TAS041.
This Laguna agate is a little beauty. It has red and white banding with a great eye and red microspheres throughout. it has classic tight Laguna banding and interestingly the entire agate looks like an elongated skull. Do you see it?There is one healed fracture on the bridge between the two sides. It has a mirror polish. Please see TAS092 for the right half of this agate.
